Carlsberg tanks are moved to Fredericia

A lot of power was required when 12 tanks of 31 tonnes each were lifted from Carlsberg’s facilities in Valby and onto steel frames on the ground. 450 tonnes and 200 tonnes cranes were needed. Moving 12 tanks from Valby to Fredericia requires planning and resources. Each tank has a diameter of 8 m, is nearly 17 m high and weighs more than 30 tonnes. The first challenge was to lift the empty tanks from their original location and onto a frame structure on which they were transported to the port of Copenhagen and further on to Fredericia by barge. Two cranes solved this first part of the task superbly. Within two days, the 12 tanks were lifted onto their frame structures. A total of 36 tanks will be moved to Fredericia, and Krangården is in charge of the full project.
